1.The Maple top is in place, the
routing for three humbuckers
completed. Note the level of
finish; even the neck joint has a
facing of flamed Maple! The
neck joint is not seen when the
neck is in place, but God knows
it's there! This guitar will have
an arsenal of three Kent
Armstrong humbuckers. The
humbucker routs are deep to
increase harmonics and reduce
weight. Small details make a
difference: The knobs are set
into small recesses which raise
the aesthetic and finish level.
Only one volume, one tone, and
one three-way switch...to reduce
confusion onstage and highlight
TONE!
3. The edge of flamed Maple looks
extraordinary. To highlight this, the
edges of the soundboard and
f-hole are masked with fineline
tape prior to staining.
4. No neck plate will be used-
instead, neck ferrules are used to
improve the "feel" of the neck joint
when playing in the upper registers.
5. Notice the detailing of the
control routing; no rough
edges...even the screw bosses for
the covers are nicely detailed! Flat
Earth Guitars look great, even with
the hardware removed...a work of
art throughout!
2. After measuring for the proper
25.5" scale length, the
countersunk holes are drilled for
the TonePros tailpiece.
