Why is it called "Flat Earth Guitars?"
First of all, let it be known that I am a "space freak"...I collect space memorabilia, astronaut autographs,
and go to NASA manned launches. I have met several astronauts, including
Buzz Aldrin- 2nd man on the moon, Apollo 11
John Glenn- Friendship 7, first US orbital flight- Project Mercury
Walter Cunningham, Apollo 7
And about a dozen Space Shuttle astronauts.
So, I do not believe that the Earth is flat...but our imaginations are.
I do believe that many modern people of faith try to "protect" their beliefs from scientific theory. Amish
people protect their heritage with the use of horse-drawn plow and lifelong sequestering. Some insist
that the Earth is only ten-thousand years old, because that is the estimated age of the first Bible stories.
I do believe that we live in an increasingly secular world which distances itself from ten-thousand years of
Judeo-Christian faith. What replaces this innate belief system is hundreds of years of science. As Man
seeks to place himself in the position of God, Science has become a religion of its own. As anyone who
has attended a state university can attest, issues of faith are not even discussed...theories are regarded
as fact.
To both of these groups, I say "I am a Christ follower, and my God is bigger than that." In all things, I seek
truth and an open mind. I seek balance in my beliefs, but in one area I am unwavering.
God is real. God is good. God does not lie.
God gave Man the gift of an inquiring mind. We should use our minds to understand our environment and
our place in the grand scheme of things. I do not need to be protected from truth. I believe that God's truth
will be revealed.
Flat Earth Guitars seeks balance in all things...balance in the physical and metaphysical. We reject
Science as religion...and narrow-minded faith. God is bigger than that...just wait, watch, and be amazed.
