A brief history of Kent Armstrong:
In the early 1970’s, Kent got his start rewinding pickups in his father, Dan Armstrong’s New York City
repair shop. Eventually, Kent took over the repair shop and added a partner: pickup designer Bill
Lawrence. With Bill’s help, Kent continued his accumulation of pickup knowledge, and it was at this
time that he started building his first pickups. After moving to England to attend college, Kent opened
a rewind and repair shop and started designing new ways to manufacture his own line of pickups.
Today, Kent is one of the foremost pickup designers in the industry. Kent still has one goal in mind:
To give every player their dream sound.

ALNICO MAGNET/ D.C. RESISTANCE=8.9K- The “Vintage”
series humbucker still remains the most popular humbucker
in the Armstrong line. These are PAF style humbuckers that
use the Alnico 5 bar magnet to produce classic humbucking
sounds. The Armstrong version of this PAF style pickup is a
touch “cleaner” sounding than other manufacturer’s
versions, yet still sounds rich and full with great warmth. This
pickup works amazing in a variety of musical styles,
providing just the right amount of output for almost any

pickup gets a rating of 10 (out of 10) across the board. We
think it goes to 11!

output Alnico 5 humbucker that takes the Vintage series humbucker,
and adds enough windings to choke a small pony (no amimals were
harmed in the making of this pickup). This means more mids, less
highs, and more output than a PAF. Combine this pickup with a
Vintage series humbucker in the neck and you’ve got the
combination that Kent himself refers to as simply “The Rocker”. 4
